Nagaland Cultural Voyage

A mystical land fabled for its ferocious tribes living amongst verdant mountains, bounded by Myanmar on one side and the states of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh on the others – ‘NAGALAND’ indeed draws a very alluring picture in the minds of tourists. A sizable portion of this verdant state is under the cover of tropical and sub-tropical rain forests. These vast stretches of green cover are bathed and nurtured by the four major rivers of Doyang, Jhanji, Dhansiri and Dikhu, which originate from the mighty mountain ranges of the state.

Itinerary
 
Day 1 Guwahati – Kaziranga    
 
Pickup from Guwahati airport and drive to Kaziranga. O/n at Kaziranga National Park
 
Day 2 Kaziranga                                                                                 
 
Post breakfast we take an open jeep safari to the Central range of the park. In the evening relax at the hotel or go for an optional gypsy safari. O/n Kaziranga National Park
 
Day 3 Kaziranga – Mokukchung                                                      
 
Early in the morning we ride on elephant back through the grasslands of Kaziranga. Post breakfast we proceed towards Mokukchung, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. O/n Mokukchung tourist lodge.
 
Day 4 Mokukchung                                                                            
 
We start our day by exploring the beautiful village of Mopungchuket, to acquaint ourselves with the Ao Nagas. From here we move to Aliba and Ungma villages. O/n at Mokukchung tourist lodge.
 
Day 5 Mokukchung – Tuophema                                                    
 
Post breakfast begin our five hour drive to Tuophema. On the way we will visit another Ao Naga village, Longkhum. O/n Tuophema village cottages
 
Day 6 Tuophema -  Kohima                                                             
 
After enjoying some grand views we move to the capital city of Kohima. Visit the war museum and Kisama heritage village. O/n at a hotel in Kohima 
 
Day 7 Kohima                                                                                   
 
In the morning we go to the War cemetery, a tribute to all soldiers who laid down their life in the great 1944 battle in the WW II  . From here visit the State museum to acquaint yourself with the culture of the various Naga tribes. O/n at a hotel in Kohima
 
Day 8 Kohima – Khonoma                                                             
 
After breakfast commence a one hour driveto Khonoma village. O/n Khonoma village in homestays
 
Day 9 Khonoma                                                                              
 
In the morning we walk around the village marveling its beauty while learning about the vibrant history and culture of the village. Latter half of the day will be spent in the thickly forested sanctuary.  O/n Khonoma village in homestays
 
Day 10 Khonoma – Dimapur                                                          
 
Post breakfast drop to Dimapur airport

• Accommodation for two nights in Kaziranga on a twin sharing basis at Wildgrass , Bon Habi or similar including breakfast
• Accommodation for two nights in Mokukchuing Tourist lodge on a twin sharing basis, including breakfast
• Accommodation for one night at Touphema Tourist lodge on a twin sharing basis, including breakfast
• Accommodation for two nights in a hotel/guesthouse in Kohima on a twin sharing basis, including breakfast
• Accommodation for two nights in a homestay in Khonoma village on a twin sharing basis, including breakfast
• One elephant ride in Kaziranga National Park
• One gypsy safari in Kaziranga National Park
• Entry fees for Kaziranga National Park
• Dedicated vehicle (sumo) for the duration of the trip

• Camera fees in Kaziranga National Park
• Excess stay & meals due to bad weather conditions or strikes, resulting in delay of flights or any other form of transport
• Any charges incurred for change in plan after confirmation of the trip
