Green to Desert Bhaba Pass Trek
This trek takes you from the green forests and pastures on the banks of the Wanger River to the dry high altitude deserts of Spiti.The trail leaves from the holiday town of Shimla and follows the ancient trade route over Bhaba Pass(15,900 ft) to Mudh village in Spiti Valley.

Itinerary
Day 1: Shimla – Narkanda – Hattu Peak – Rampur – Jeori – Sarahan. (175Km)
Drive from Shimla enroute visit Kufri, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda hike to Hattu Peak (3135 Meter Peak) walk back to the Jeep lunch either in Narkanda / Sainj, after lunch on to Rampur, drive through Jeori reach Sarahan for a over night stay.
Day 2: Sarahan – Jeori –Wangtu – Karcham – Kalpa. (92Km)
Early morning visit the Bird Park walk for 1 hour, visit the Bhima Kali temple one of the most important temples of Kali in India where there use to be human sacrifice before 18th Century, drive to Jeori past the Wangtu bridge then drive towards, Karcham reach Kalpa for a overnight stay in guest house in Kalpa. Visit the monastery & the orphanage in Kalpa. The view of Kinner Kailash (6050 meters) will be an enchanting site.
Day 3: Kalpa – Kafnu (85 Km)
After Breakfast drive back to Wangtu bridge and reach Kafnoo which is going to be the last village from Kinnaur side for you before trek, for a over night stay in the guesthouse.
Trek (Bhaba Pass 4910mtrs) Kinnaur Valley to Spiti Valley
Day 4: Kafnoo – Muling (5-6hrs)
After breakfast the trek starts through a Village and Forest. After a few hours of steep climb the path gradually ascends to the campsite, a lush green meadow on the banks of the River Bhaba. Overnight at Camp.
Day 5: Kara –Kara- Pustring (7-8hrs)
After breakfast we start to the base of Bhaba Pass. The trek today involves many activities like river crossing, simple walks and a gradual ascent. Overnight at camp.
Day 6: Pustring - Bolder (6-7hrs)
Today the first three hrs is a steep climb to the top of the Bhaba Pass at an altitude of approximately 4,865mts. After reaching this height the trek continues to enter into the Spiti Valley. Overnight camp at Bolder / camps.
Day 7: Bolder - Mud- Kungri – Tabo (4-5 hrs).
Today is last day of trek, after Breakfast trek continues towards Mud. After 5 hours trek touches the first Spiti village Mud having nearly forty families. After having lunch in Mudh start driving towards the 1012yrs old monestary Tabo. Overnight stay in Tabo.
Trek Ends
Day 8: Tabo – Sarahan – Shimla 365km
Leave early morning from Tabo and reach Shimla by evening. This can be broken up with an additional 1 or 2 nights in Kalpa or Sangla as per your plans.
