Sitla Estate : Mukteshwar

Place description:-

Mukteshwar is a town and tourist destination in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. It sits high in the Kumaon Hills at an altitude of 2286 meters (7500 feet), 51 km from Nainital, 72 km from Haldwani, and 395 km from Delhi.

About the Property:-

Sitla is about 9 KMs from Mukteswar and the road is a mix of good and not so good all along. However, you will not get the chance to criticize the road as the scenery is more likely to mesmerize you. Most of the road passes through either dense rhododendron forest or gives you large open spaces to view the mighty peaks from. The property itself is visible from a distance, a 100 year old bungalow made in stone and wood and succulently surrounded by an orchard of apples and peaches.
The lovely estate spread over 39 acres is owned by the charming and impressive Vikram Maira. Vikram is an adventure buff and an environmentalist and stays at the Estate itself. He knows the area around Sitla like the back of his hand and will guide you to many hikes and walks every day that you are at his home.
The five double rooms at the Estate are well appointed, each one offering a lovely view of the valley and the hills beyond. The furniture and the décor is rustic and exudes an old world charm that adds to the uniqueness of the place. The food served to you is mostly procured from with in the estate’s farms; as clean and pure as it comes!
If you were to ask me to list a few things that one should do while at Sitla Estate, here’s what the list would look like:
