Half day City Tour of Udaipur. Places covered City Palace, Sahelion ki Bari, FatehSagar

Day 2 -

Sajjangarh Palace

Built under the leadership of Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884, Sajjangarh Palace was established for forecasting monsoon in and around Udaipur, and hence, popularly known as Monsoon Palace. Some people say that the Maharana built it at the top of the mountain to get a view of his ancestral home in Chittorgarh.

Today, the gorgeous palace stands proudly at the highest peak in the Aravali range and looks like a jewelled headdress on the head of a rocky mountain. The rocky cliff has an excellent bird’s eye view of the city and its pristine lakes, beautiful palaces and surrounding hills. Previously owned by the royal family of Mewar, the palace is now under the control of the Forest Dept. of Rajasthan and has been opened to the public recently. The palace provides a beautiful view of the sunset and is a must visit place for romantics, families and lovers of mountain biking.
